Amanda Wilkinson
"With a background in industrial design and a fascination with architecture, I draw inspiration from the structural elements and geometric forms found in the built environment. These influences show up in my paintings as a subtle nod to architectural compositions, incorporating lines, shapes, and proportions reminiscent of man-made structures. However, I don’t aim to replicate these forms in a literal sense. Instead, I use them as a starting point to convey memories, moods, and a sense of place".
Amanda Wilkinson's work has been shortlisted for the Molly Morpeth Canaday Award, the Parkin Prize and NZ Painting and Printmaking Award. She exhibits in NZ, Australia and the UK. Amanda lives and works in Wellington.
