Greta Greenwood

Greta has been painting throughout her life and responds to her experiences and surroundings on canvas in a loose and confident manner. Using strong lines and loose brush marks, her works vary in size from drawings to paintings. She majored in art and maori studies in her education degree. Inspired by the land Greta’s response reflects a strong sense of belonging and being connected to these places ... in many ways her ‘pepeha’ is portrayed as contemporary landscape paintings. Does the land belong to us or do we belong to the land?
