Petra White

Petra White is a ceramic artist based in Whakatū Nelson, making functional pieces for everyday use alongside more playful ceramic forms.

Petra grew up in Taupō, and the colours and landscapes of the central North Island continue to find their way into her work. Her ceramics have a relaxed, individual character, with natural tones, rich glazes and the marks of the making process all part of their appeal.

She is also an active member of Whakatū's ceramics community, teaching wheel throwing at Kiln Studio and children's hand-building at Nelson Community Potters.
