"The materiality of painting is of specific interest for me. In my earlier years I worked for Art Suppliers and Paint companies in order to learn all that I can about paint properties. 'Traces Of Time' is the result of many layers of mixed media under paintings before finally applying a Liquid Bronze to create the Verdigris effect. Verdigris is a patina that occurs when copper, bronze or brass is weathered and exposed to air or seawater over a period of time. I am interested in seeing the traces of time on surfaces as everything is impermanent".
