Audrey Anderson

"My art delves into our daily interactions with nature, contemplating how we fit into the natural world. It captures scenes such as a warning sign amidst a landscape or a city hub framed by mist and trees. The choice of medium in my artworks is guided by the play of light. I work primarily with calligraphy ink, graffiti inks, and water-based printing inks. Water is an essential element in my creative process, infusing the works with a sense of uncontrolled ambiguity. 

When it comes to categorising my works, I prefer to refer to them as drawings. Drawing encompasses curiosity, harmony, and intuition, seamlessly transitioning between abstraction and the figurative. With just a few lines, a drawing can capture a fleeting moment like a passing breeze. From a young age, I have been fascinated by gestures, flow, and the marks left by spontaneous acts. Drawing brings you to the present moment, grounding you in your surroundings. I cherish the experience of truly "taking it all in," as it allows me to appreciate the beauty of seemingly insignificant moments. It is from this place that my artworks emerge".
